Social Security Number Verification Services

Social Security Number Validation

This identity search helps determine if a Social Security Number (SSN) provided by an applicant is valid using information from the Social Security Administration (SSA) and checks the SSA Death Index to help detect any inconsistencies. This service can also help verify if the SSN holder’s name, date of birth, and SSN match SSA’s records by obtaining the information directly with the Social Security Administration (SSA).

Note: the SSN Validation search does not confirm that the SSN belongs to your candidate. This must be done through a Consent-Based Social Security Verification (CBSV).

Social Security Number Address Trace

This identity search helps identify the names and addresses associated with an applicant’s Social Security Number (SSN). This information may be used to request additional public record searches within the jurisdictions corresponding to the candidate’s identified addresses.

Why Conduct a Social Security Number Trace?

Employers need to be sure that the applicants they screen for any open positions are representing themselves as accurately as possible. Having a Social Security Number validation conducted by our experts gives employers insight into whether the SSN provided by the candidate is accurate. It also helps identify any candidates who may have changed their names in the past or have any address history not mentioned in their original application. This opens new avenues for background checks and criminal record searches that otherwise would have gone unexplored.
